The Holy Cross Athletic Department and the Gridiron Leadership Council welcomed the second class of Crusader Legends into the Ring of Honor on Thursday, September 1. This year's class included: George Connor ex1946, Bruce Kozerski '84, Jon Morris '64 and Joe Wilson '73. The inductees were honored at a pre-game reception where over 100 family members, friends and members of the Holy Cross community joined in congratulating them on their achievement. Following the reception, the honorees were recognized in a pre-game ceremony with the unveiling of their permanent signage at Fitton Field in front of 16,000 fans at the first-ever night game at Fitton Field in the 116 year history of the football program.

The Holy Cross Athletic Department and the Gridiron Leadership
Council welcomed the inaugural class of Crusader Legends into the
Ring of Honor on Saturday, October 2. The inaugural class included:

Osmanksi '39, Edmund Murphy ’43, Vince Promuto
’60, John Provost ’75, Gill Fenerty
’86 and Gordie Lockbaum ’88. The six inductees were
honored at a brunch where over 150 family members, friends and
members of the Holy Cross community joined in congratulating them
on their achievement. Following the brunch, the honorees were
recognized in a pre-game ceremony with the unveiling of their
permanent signage at Fitton Field.

The Holy Cross football team and the Gridiron Club held their
annual Spring Game and Alumni Game on Saturday, April 17, on the
new synthetic turf at Holy Cross Field. The games were followed by
a cookout held in the Field House. At the cookout, Jack Moriarty was presented with the
Gridiron Club Leadership Council Lifetime Achievement Award.

Alumni, friends and parents of Holy Cross football gathered at the
Stockyard in Brighton, Mass., on Feb. 25 to honor head coach Tom
Gilmore, his staff and the senior class as the 2009 Patriot League
champions. The stories recounted by Larry Doyle ’83 and a few
seniors on the success of the 90 Wide Mentoring Program sponsored
by the Holy Cross Gridiron Leadership Council proved to be one of
the highlights of the evening. The Gridiron Leadership Council has
paired 90 alums with the current contingent of the Crusader
football players, allowing the student-athletes the opportunity to
connect with the alums on athletic, academic and personal
levels.
HOLY CROSS MEN'S BASKETBALL ALUMNI GAME (2/6/2010)
The Holy Cross men's basketball team held its annual
alumni game on Saturday, Feb. 6, at the Hart Center. The game was
followed by a reception in the Bud Ryan Room. The current Holy
Cross team then posted a 73-46 victory over Lafayette.

MEN'S LACROSSE ALUMNI GAME (10/17/2009)
The Holy Cross men's lacrosse team held its annual Alumni Game on
Saturday, Oct. 17, as part of Homecoming Weekend. The game was
followed by a tailgate at Fitton Field (prior to the football game
against Dartmouth). The current men's lacrosse team then played a
scrimmage against McGill.
SEAN KEARNEY GOLF OUTING (10/13/2009)
Friends of Holy Cross Men's Basketball held a Golf Outing on
Tuesday, October 13, 2009 at Bethpage Blue in Farmingdale, N.Y. The
day will consist of a shotgun start followed by a cocktail
reception and barbecue dinner.

A TRIBUTE TO JACK MORIARTY (9/19/2009)
Holy Cross honored Jack Moriarty for his nearly 40 years of
service to the athletic department on Saturday, September 19, 2009,
with a post-game reception in the Hogan Ballroom after the Holy
Cross-Harvard football game.
WOMEN'S BASKETBALL GOLF TOURNAMENT
(9/18/2009)
The 14th Annual Holy Cross Women's Basketball Crusader Legend Golf
Tournament was held on Friday, Sept. 18, at the Cyprian Keys Golf
Course in Boylston, Mass. This year's legend was current Associate
Athletic Director Ann Zelesky. Proceeds of the golf tournament went
toward the Zona Children's Fund in memory of Mary Zona, Associate
Head Coach Ann McInerney's sister.
FIELD HOCKEY ALUMNAE WEEKEND (9/12/2009)
The Holy Cross field hockey team held its Alumnae Weekend on Sept.
12. The Alumnae Game was played at the Hart Turf Field, followed by
a tailgate at Fitton Field prior to the Holy Cross-Sacred Heart
football game. A social gathering then took place at Funky
Murphy's.

The Crusader Athletics Fund held a pre-game tailgate for
all 2008-2009 donors and their families before the Holy
Cross-Sacred Heart Football game September 12.
MEN'S BASKETBALL GOLF OUTING (5/17/2009)
The Holy Cross men's basketball team held its second annual golf
outing on Sunday, May 17, at the Cyprian Keyes Golf Club in
Boylston, Mass. The day included 18 holes of golf, and a buffet
dinner with celebrity guest speakers and event prizes.
MEN'S SOCCER ALUMNI GAME (4/18/2009)
The Holy Cross men's soccer team held its annual Alumni Day on
Saturday, April 18. The Alumni Game took place at Linda Johnson
Smith Soccer Stadium, with the Alumni facing the current Holy Cross
team. A Meet-and-Greet followed the game, along with a postgame
gathering at Funky Murphy's in Worcester.

The Holy Cross football team held its annual golf outing
on Friday, April 17, at the Worcester Country Club. The spring game
and alumni game took place on Saturday, April 18, followed by a
cookout.
MEN'S BASKETBALL ALUMNI GAME (2/28/2009)
The Holy Cross men's basketball team held its annual Alumni Game
on Saturday, February 28. The game took place at 12:15 p.m. in the
Hart Center Gym. A reception for men's basketball alumni was then
held in the Bud Ryan Room, prior the Crusaders' game against
Lehigh.
MEN'S ICE HOCKEY ALUMNI GAME (2/14/2009)
The Holy Cross men's ice hockey team held its annual Alumni Game
on Saturday, February 14. The alumni game took place at 1:00 p.m. A
reception for men's ice hockey alumni was then held in the area
outside the Hart Center Pool.
WOMEN'S BASKETBALL ALUMNAE GAME (1/31/2009)
The Holy Cross women's basketball team held its annual Alumnae
Game on Saturday, January 31. The game took place at 10:30 a.m. in
the Hart Center Gym. Following the game, there was a Holy Cross
women's basketball alumni reception in the Bud Ryan Room.
BASEBALL LEADOFF DINNER (1/24/2009)
The fifth annual Holy Cross Baseball Leadoff Dinner was held on
Saturday, January 24, 2009 in the Hogan Center Ballroom on the
campus of Holy Cross. The evening included a silent auction of
sports memorabilia, a social hour and a buffet dinner. Holy Cross
Varsity Club Hall of Fame member Paul Brissette (Class of 1954), a
former Crusader baseball player and starting second baseman of the
1952 national championship team, was the alumni honoree for the
evening.
HOCKEY ALUMNI & FRIENDS GATHERING IN BOSTON

The Holy Cross Department of Athletics held a pre-game gathering
of HC men's hockey alumni, parents and friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m.
at the Sunset Cantina prior to the Holy Cross-Boston University
men's ice hockey game.
VOLLEYBALL ALUMNI WEEKEND (11/1-2/2008)
The Holy Cross volleyball team held its 2008 Alumni Weekend on
November 1-2. The current team took on Army on Saturday night at 7
p.m. at the Field House. The alumni game took place on Sunday at
10:30 a.m. at the Field House, with refreshments immediately
following.

The Holy Cross Department of Athletics and the Holy Cross Club of
Greater Boston held a pre-game tailgate for Holy Cross alumni,
parents, and friends prior to the Holy Cross-Harvard football game
on Sept. 19 at Harvard Stadium.

The Holy Cross women's basketball team held their annual Golf

1978 & 1983 FOOTBALL TEAM REUNIONS

A pregame tailgate was held for all members of the '78 and '83
teams and their families prior to the Holy Cross-UMass football
game, with food and soft drinks in the tent area by the left field
baseball stands.
WOMEN'S LACROSSE ALUMNAE GAME (9/6/2008)
The women's lacrosse team held its annual alumnae game on
Saturday, September 6. The game took place during Homecoming
weekend, and was a great time for everyone to get together with
lacrosse friends and family while catching the Crusader football
game as well.
MEN'S ICE HOCKEY GOLF OUTING (6/26/2008)
The men's ice hockey team held their annual golf outing on
Thursday, June 26, at Marlboro Country Club with a shotgum start
beginning at 10:00 a.m. All proceeds benefit the hockey program
through the Crusader Athletics Fund.
FIELD HOCKEY ALUMNAE EVENT (4/26/2008)
The field hockey team held their annual alumnae day on Saturday,
April 26 with an alumnae game and skills competition on the Hart
Center turf. Immediately following the game a cookout was held at
the field.
COACHES' RECEPTION IN BOSTON (4/24/2008)
The Holy Cross Department of Athletics held a head coaches, alumni
and friends reception at the law offices of Nixon Peabody, LLC on
Thursday, April 24. Alumnus Tim Mungovan '91, a partner at the
firm, offered Nixon Peabody's conference room as a location for
this event. Director of Athletics Dick Regan, Football Coach Tom
Gilmore, Men's Soccer Coach Elvis Comrie and Women's Soccer Coach
Deb Flaherty were on hand to speak about their programs.
BASEBALL 30TH REUNION EVENT (4/19/2008)
The 1978 baseball team held a 30th reunion with a cookout and on
field recognition at Fitton Field on Saturday, April 19, as the
Crusaders took on Lafayette in a doubleheader. The team had the
most wins in school history and was honored for their achievements
between games.

their home meet on Saturday, April 19 at the Hart Center.

The Holy Cross Football program held its annual golf outing at the
Worcester Country Club on Friday, April 18 with a shotgun start
beginning at 9:00 a.m. The alumni game took place on Saturday,
April 19, followed by a cookout in the Field House.
SOFTBALL ALUMNAE DAY TAILGATE (4/13/2008)
The softball team held an alumnae tailgate at Freshman Field on
Sunday, April 13, as the current Crusader squad took on Lafayette
in a doubleheader. A 10th reunion of the 1998 team was also held,
to honor the achievements of a Patriot League regular season and
tournament title and the most wins in school history.
MEN'S LACROSSE ALUMNI & PARENTS DAY
(4/5/2008)
The men's lacrosse team held their annual alumni and parents
gathering at the Hart Center on Saturday, April 5, as the current
Crusader squad took on Lafayette. A pre-game cookout was held for
all alumni and parents. A 25th reunion of the 1983 team also took
place, to honor the achievements of a 12-2 season, the best record
in school history.
BASEBALL RECEPTION IN SEATTLE, WASH.

The Holy Cross Club of Western Washington hosted an alumni,
parents and friends reception on Saturday, March 15 from 7-9 p.m.
at Cafe Mae, located at 1009 8th Ave N in Seattle. Holy Cross
played the University of Washington in doubleheaders on Saturday,
March 15 and Sunday, March 16.

head coach Tom Gilmore on Thursday, March 6 hosted by Steve Hiorns

COACHES' RECEPTION IN NEW YORK CITY
(2/19/2008)
The Holy Cross Leadership Council of New York, the Holy Cross Club
of New York, and the Crusader Athletics Fund held a Coaches'
Reception for HC alumni, parents, and friends featuring Director of
Athletics Dick Regan, Head Soccer Coach Elvis Comrie, Head Football
Coach Tom Gilmore and Head Men's Lacrosse Coach Adam Pascal at the
Princeton Club of New York on Tuesday, February 19. Seventy people
were on hand for the event.
WOMEN'S BASKETBALL ALUMNAE GAME (2/16/2008)
The Women's Basketball team held their annual alumnae game and
reception on Saturday, Feb. 16 after the current HC women's team
defeated Bucknell 73-67. Fifteeen alumnae were back for the day
with 14 playing in the game. The purple team was made up of players
from 2003 or earlier and the white team was comprised of players
from 2004-2007. The purple team defeated the white team in overtime
54-52. A reception followed in the Bud Ryan '41 room. Alumnae

MEN'S BASKETBALL ALUMNI GAME (2/9/2008)
The Men's Basketball team held their annual alumni game and
reception on Saturday, Feb. 9 over Winter Homecoming weekend.
Twenty-eight alumni were back for the day with 18 playing in the
game. The white team defeated the purple team 97-69 as Rob Feaster
'95 scored 36 points. A reception followed in the Bud Ryan '41 room
as the current HC team defeated Lafayette 77-57. A second gathering
followed the current men's game at Crossroads Pub on campus at the
general HC alumni reception. Alumni present for the day included:

MEN'S ICE HOCKEY ALUMNI GAME (2/3/2008)
The Men's Ice Hockey team held their annual alumni game on Sunday,
Feb. 3 at the Hart Center Rink. Three 20 minute periods were played
and the result was a 16-16 tie. A shootout was then used to decide
the outcome. A reception followed in the Bud Ryan '41 room. Alumni

HOLY CROSS BASEBALL LEADOFF DINNER

The Holy Cross baseball team held its fourth annual Leadoff Dinner
on Saturday, January 19, in the Hogan Campus Center Ballroom. The
event included a social hour and dinner, with all proceeds from the
event benefiting the Holy Cross baseball program. The alumni
honoree at this year's event was Varsity Club Hall of Fame member
Peter Columbo (Class of 1979). The guest speaker was Lou Merloni
(current professional baseball player and former Boston Red
Sox).
MEN'S ICE HOCKEY HALL OF FAME NIGHT
(12/1/2007)
On Saturday, Dec. 1st, the eight members of the Holy Cross Varsity
Club Hall of Fame from the men's ice hockey program were honored
with a pre-game reception and on ice recognition before the men's
game vs. Connecticut. A banner was also hung in the Hart Center
Rink bearing the names of those players and future hall of fame
members. The eight players back for the gathering were Larry Murphy
'70, Gerry Curley '81, Jim Stewart '79, Joe Lunny '86, Glenn Graves
'77, Bill Bellerose '77, Dean Casagrande '83 and Matt Muniz
'87.
HOLY CROSS ALUMNI RECEPTION IN BRIDGEPORT

The Holy Cross Department of Athletics held a pre-game alumni
reception on Tuesday, Nov. 13th preceding the Holy Cross men's
basketball game vs. Fairfield. The event will took in the 3rd Floor
Club Lounge of The Arena at Harbor Yard in Bridgeport, Conn.
2007 BASEBALL ALUMNI GAME & PARENTS DAY
(9/30/2007)
The Holy Cross baseball team held its annual alumni game &
parents day on Sunday, Sept. 30. The game took place at 11:00 a.m.
at Fitton Field followed by a cookout immediately after. New Holy
Cross head coach Greg DiCenzo was on hand to meet with all Crusader
alumni and parents of current players.
1987 FOOTBALL TEAM 20TH ANNIVERSARY
(9/15/2007)
The College of the Holy Cross honored the 1987 undefeated Crusader
football team at the Harvard game on Saturday, Sept. 15th. The team
capped its first 11-0 season by accepting the ECAC Division I-AA
"Team of the Year" trophy as well as the Lambert Cup, significant
of the top Division I-AA team in the East. The Crusaders were also
ranked #1 in the final NCAA poll. Members of the 1987 team in
attendance were honored on the field at halftime.
SOCCER ALUMNI WEEKEND (9/7-8/2007)
The Holy Cross men's and women's soccer teams held their 2007
Soccer Alumni weekend on Friday, Sept. 7, and Saturday, Sept. 8.
The women's team played Friday night vs. Central Connecticut State,
while the men took on Quinnipiac on Saturday night. Both teams also
played Alumni games on Saturday.
11TH ANNUAL HOCKEY GOLF OUTING (6/28/2007)
The Men's Ice Hockey team held its annual Golf Outing on Thursday,
June 28th at the Marlboro Country Club. 100 golfers took to the
links for a scramble style event, followed by dinner and a raffle.
The winning team consisted of Owen Dugan '83, Kevin Lynch '82, Curt
Bletzer '80, Hugh Curran '84 and Chris Brown '83. The team shot a
score of 57. All proceeds from the event will benefit the Men's
Hockey program through the Crusader Athletics Fund.
HOLY CROSS HEAD COACHES, ALUMNI & FRIENDS RECEPTION

The Holy Cross Department of Athletics held a head coaches, alumni
and friends reception at the Stockyard Restaurant in Brighton on
Thursday, May 3rd. Several HC head coaches were on hand to speak
briefly and answer questions about their respective programs.
55TH ANNIVERSARY - 1952 NCAA BASEBALL CHAMPIONS
(4/20-21/2007)
A 55th reunion of the 1952 Holy Cross NCAA Champion baseball team
took place over the weekend of Friday, April 20th. A formal dinner
was held on Friday night in the Hogan Center, followed by breakfast
and a cookout at Fitton Field on Saturday. The team was introduced
on the field and the 1952 NCAA College World Series Champions
banner was raised between games of a doubleheader vs. Bucknell. The
following eight members of the '52 team were in attendance: Paul
Brissette, Fran Dyson, Jack Hetherton, Jack Keenan, Jack Lonergan,
Art Moossmann, Pete Naton and Ron Perry.
FOOTBALL GOLF OUTING & ALUMNI WEEKEND
(4/20-21/2007)
The Holy Cross Football program canceled its annual golf outing at
the Worcester Country Club on Friday, April 20th due to unplayable
course conditions caused by inclement weather the week of the
event. The spring football game took place on Saturday, April 21st,
followed by the alumni game. A cookout was held in the Field House
immediately following the games.
LACROSSE ALUMNI WEEKEND (4/14/2007)
The men's lacrosse team held their annual alumni gathering at the
Hart Center on Saturday, April 14th as the current Crusader squad
took on Marist, winning 10-6. In the future, the team hopes to have
an alumni game each year.
BASKETBALL RECEPTION IN COLUMBUS, OHIO
(3/16/2007)
The Holy Cross Department of Athletics and the Crusader Athletics
Fund sponsored a pre-game reception at the Max & Erma's
restaurant on Friday, March 16th preceding the men's first round
NCAA tournament game vs. So. Illinois. More than 100 Crusader
alumni, parents and friends were on hand for the event.

FOOTBALL RECEPTION IN NEW YORK CITY
(2/27/2007)
The Holy Cross Leadership Council of New York, the Holy Cross Club
of New York, and the Crusader Athletics Fund held a special
cocktail reception for Holy Cross Football alumni, parents, and
friends featuring Head Football Coach Tom Gilmore, the 2006 Patriot
League Coach of the Year, at the New York Athletic Club on Tuesday,
February 27th. More than 70 people were on hand for the event.
BASEBALL FUNDRAISING EVENT (1/31/2007)
The 3rd Annual Baseball Leadoff Dinner was held on Wednesday, Jan.
31st on the Holy Cross campus with nearly 200 HC baseball alumni,
parents and friends packing the Hogan Center ballroom. The evening
included a silent auction of sports memorabilia, a social hour and
buffet dinner. Holy Cross Varsity Club Hall of Fame member Rick
DeAngelis '70 was the alumni honoree for the evening. Worcester
native and 2001 Red Sox Minor League Pitcher of the Year Greg
Montalbano was the keynote speaker. All proceeds from the event
will benefit the team's spring trips and the Crusader baseball
program in general.
