WORCESTER, Mass. - The College of the Holy Cross has named Brian Atkins an assistant athletic trainer, it was announced by head athletic trainer Anthony Cerundolo and athletic director Richard M. Regan, Jr. Atkins will work with the Holy Cross men's ice hockey and football teams, while assisting with a number of other sports.
Atkins spent the last two years as a graduate assistant athletic trainer at Cornell University, where he worked on a daily basis with the men's lacrosse and sprint football squads. He also handled winter event coverage and worked with Cornell's summer sports schools.
Prior to his time at Cornell, Atkins was an athletic training student at the State University of New York at Cortland, working with the women's gymnastics, cross country and football teams. He also spent time assisting with Cornell's men's lacrosse and football teams during his time as an undergraduate.
A certified and licensed member of the National Athletic Trainers' Association, Atkins received his bachelor's degree in athletic training from SUNY Cortland in 2007, and his master's degree in exercise and sport sciences from Ithaca College in 2009.
