Crusader Athletics Fund Concludes Another Record-Breaking Year

WORCESTER, Mass. – Holy Cross Athletics and the Crusader Athletics Fund are celebrating another record-breaking year. The Crusader Athletics Fund, which is the fundraising arm of Holy Cross Athletics, brought in a total of $1.1-million in support of student-athletes from 3,070 donors during the 2013-2014 school year. This represents a 20 percent increase in the number of donors and a 13 percent increase in dollars raised from 2012-2013.

“I am very pleased with the success the Crusader Athletics Fund achieved this year, and I would like to congratulate everyone on this impressive accomplishment,” director of athletics Nathan Pine said. “Together we set a new record by raising $1.1-million in support of our student-athletes, showing that our alumni, family members and friends are highly invested in the success of our programs. I would also like to thank everyone who supported the Crusader Athletics Fund in 2013-2014 as it has a direct and transformational impact on our student-athletes’ experience, and our success in the classroom and on the field.”

This year, 3,070 donors gave $1.1-million, breaking the donor and dollar records to the Crusader Athletics Fund and raising more than $1-million for the first time since the Fund’s inception in 2007. Eight sports broke dollar records and five sports broke donor records, while 15 of the 18 allocations raised more money this year than they did in 2012-2013.

The Crusader Athletics Fund, which was established in 2007, has raised $6.2-million in total for Holy Cross Athletics. The Crusader Athletics Fund provides additional resources for coaching, enhanced recruitment, equipment upgrades and team competition travel, among other things.
