Head Men's Rowing Coach - College of the Holy Cross, (Worcester, Mass.)

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Lead men’s crew program by recruiting and developing qualified student-athletes, supervising assistant coaches, and organizing schedules. The head coach must conduct the program in a manner that recognize the primacy of academics by recruiting, supporting, and retaining student-athletes who will be competitive in college crew. The head coach must ensure that the men’s crew program operates in compliance with all College and NCAA rules and regulations.

Provides leadership to team that achieves academic and athletic success on a consistent basis.  Head coach monitors academic progress; develops training programs that are safe and effective for student-athletes; schedules games and practices in accordance with College policies; coordinates travel arrangements; oversees selection of team equipment and apparel; coordinates video analysis; develops game strategies; completes reports; and maintains records as required. Coordinates recruitment of student-athletes.  Head coach identifies talented,  academically qualified prospective student-athletes; effectively communicates with high school coaches, prospects and parents; and supports key applicants within admissions and financial aid offices. Provides leadership to program.  Maintains an environment that reflects the department’s commitment to excellence, integrity, respect and leadership.  Collaborates with sport administrator and/or Director of Athletics to develop annual goals for program.  Communicates program’s needs and concerns responsibly and in timely manner.  Attends workshops, training sessions and meetings required for head coaches by the College and the conference. Responsible for administration of all phases of the program, including monitoring team budget, completing expense reports, and conducting sports camps and/or clinics. Participates in marketing and fundraising initiatives.  Engages in special events to generate interest within the College community, alumni, and region. Oversees operational activities of assistant coaches and prepares annual evaluations for direct reports. Performs other duties as assigned by sport supervisor and/or Director of Athletics.

REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor’s degree required. Previous coaching experience required, preferably at the Division I level. Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations. Strong communication, interpersonal and organizational skills required. Computer and video editing skills strongly encouraged. 40 hours/week; 12 months/year.

Director of Athletics Social & Digital Media Marketing - College of the Holy Cross, (Worcester, Mass.)

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Director of Athletics Social and Digital Media Marketing will support Holy Cross Athletics to engage fans and to analyze data to deliver robust insights and action plans for social media, digital strategy and email engagement efforts.  This person will also work with and support revenue generation, lead acquisition, and data analysis to promote the mission and goals of the athletics department. He/she will need to build a pipeline of strategic digital opportunities through developing a network of the key players in the industry from which to source potential transactions. Further responsibilities will include directing and implementing all digital advertising elements, including ad campaigns, social marketing, and data acquisition in partnership with the overall marketing plan, driving social media marketing strategy, working with internal teams (such as, PR, advertising, ecommerce, and video network), and directing and activating all email marketing elements, including all campaigns, marketing initiatives, and communication strategies. He/she will be expected to provide analysis, recommendations and rationale for social and emerging media marketing campaigns, while delivering revenue and profits consistent with fiscal year budget, utilize insights tools such as Google Analytics, Facebook Analytics, and Twitter Ad Analytics to produce reports. It is necessary for this person to possess experience with established social platforms including: Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, Tumblr, Vine and Google+ and to have the ability to implement and assess mobile technology and system feasibility. He/she will act as lead liaison to emerging and established partners, direct and implement digital Fan Loyalty and Retention program, direct and position online auction and exclusive online store and assist with official athletics website strategic plan and implementation. Further, the director will activate overall marketing plan for athletics, including ticket sales, attendance, community outreach, branding, and lead generation.

REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor's degree in a related field required; 1-2 years of experience in a social media or email marketing position (previous internship applicable).  Experience in professional or intercollegiate athletic environment a plus.  Ability to take complex ideas and present them in a manner that is easy to consume and share.  Experience managing a small team and working cross-functionally to achieve department goals.  Strong technical skills, and ability to leverage emerging media.  Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects effectively with tight deadlines.  Strong quantitative analytical ability.  Excellent written and verbal communication skills.  Experience using various insights tools such as Sysomos, Social Guide, Facebook Analytics, Twitter Ad Analytics, and YouTube Analytics/  Advanced skills in MS Excel and PowerPoint.  Passion for emerging media trends and technology.  Experience with NeuLion Titan platform a plus.

Athletic Trainer - College of the Holy Cross, (Worcester, Mass.)

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Athletics Trainer is responsible for administration of athletic training care to student-athletes including prevention, emergency care and rehabilitation elements. 

Provide the best possible medical care for the student athletes and visiting athletic teams.  Provides injury evaluation, treatment, and first-aid care for assigned teams, events, and day to day on-call assignments.   Plans and implements rehabilitation programs for serious injuries or post-surgical conditions.  Keeps and maintains medical records for each athlete.   Maintains the inventory for medical supplies and over the counter medications.  Assists in the supervision of athletic training students in the training room and at the practice or competition facility.  Engaging in effective written and oral communication with members of the coaching staff, athletic administration, and sports medicine staff.  Assist with established guidelines of the health care of profession and medical community, promoting a communication network for student-athletes, parents, coaches and medical personnel.  Organization and completion of student-athlete pre-participation physical examinations; coordinating timely referrals and communicating with the Team Physicians regarding student-athlete injuries and medical condition and plan of care.  Working with Athletic Training Education Program students to set up necessary emergency and safety equipment for practice and competition; Being familiar with Departmental Emergency Plan for practice and competition and be prepared to initiate during practice and competition as well as provide CPR/AED and on field extrication.

REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor's required; Master’s degree preferred.  Experience managing multiple tasks, and while working proficiently under pressure.  Athletic Training Certificate required.  Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects effectively with tight deadlines. 40 hours/week; 12 months/year.

Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks. Flexibility and reliability - position requires travel work on nights and weekends. Understands risk management and works in conjunction with Sports Medicine and Strength and Conditioning personnel to uphold health and safety standards in the conduct of all activities. Strong teamwork and team facilitation.  Supports departmental efforts through collaborative measures and sharing knowledge with others. Understands, values and respects diversity within the team and fosters an inclusive and supportive environment. 40 hours/ 52 weeks.
