Media Information
The Holy Cross athletic media relations office provides services
to all members of the media in their coverage of Crusader
Athletics. Information to assist the media is provided below. Any
media member who has additional questions or needs further
assistance should contact the media relations office at (508)
793-2583.
Credentials & Scouting Passes
Passes are required for all football, men's and women's basketball
and men's ice hockey games. All requests for working media
credentials should be made to the media relations office at least
one week in advance, preferably in writing. All requests received
one week in advance will be mailed, while all others will be left
at the will call window. Every effort will be made to accommodate
all members of the media, but as space is limited, we may not be
able to honor all requests.
Radio Broadcasts
At football, basketball and ice hockey games, Holy Cross has
installed phone lines which can be rented by visiting radio. There
is a charge of $75.00 per line for commercial radio, or $50.00 per
line for student radio. Others wishing to install their own lines
may contact Verizon Telephone at (508) 792-4000. Any radio station
or reporting service seeking in-game or post-game reports must make
arrangements through the athletic media relations office.
Parking
For football games, accredited media will be given passes allowing
access to the lot just south of Fitton Field, the baseball field
and the adjacent fields. For events at the Hart Center, parking is
on a first-come, first-served basis. The parking lots in front of
the Hart Center are ordinarily able to handle all your parking
needs. Please note that there is no specific area for press parking
at any athletic event, and any member of the media not arriving at
least one hour before game time is not guaranteed parking
space.
Game Day Services
At football, men's and women's basketball and men's ice
hockey games, pre-game press notes, roster cards and programs are
available to the media approximately one hour before game time. A
light meal is also provided for the media at football and
basketball games. Fax service is available after the game with
advanced notice to the athletic media relations staff. Final
statistics / box scores will be available following the game.
Postgame Procedures
All Holy Cross locker rooms are closed to the media.
Members of the media should submit player requests to a member of
the media relations staff with five minutes remaining in the
contest. Following a 10-minute cooling off period, requested
coaches and players will be available. Requests for interviews with
the visiting team should be made with that school's sports
information director.
Coach & Player Interviews
Personal interviews with Holy Cross coaches and athletes can be
arranged through the media relations office. Players are normally
available in person and for phone interviews on non-game days,
subject to the individual student-athlete's academic
responsibilities. Arrangements for all interviews should be made at
least 24 hours in advance. Home phone numbers will not be given
out.
Football Media Luncheon
Head football coach Tom Gilmore will have a weekly
luncheon with the media each Tuesday during the season at 12:00
p.m. During the luncheon, we will make every effort to have the
head coach of Holy Cross' opponent for that week's game available
via speaker phone. In addition, at least one student-athlete will
be available for interviews near the end of the luncheon. All
members of the working media are welcome to attend. For more
information, contact the athletic media relations office.
