Jordan Enos Named A Senior CLASS Award Candidate

WORCESTER, Mass. – Holy Cross senior first baseman and catcher Jordan Enos (Stockton, Calif.) has been named one of the 30 candidates for the 2013 Senior CLASS Award for Division I baseball. The Senior CLASS Award recognizes NCAA student-athletes who have notable achievements in four area of excellence – community, classroom, character and competition.  

The 30 candidates will be narrowed down to 10 finalists midway through the regular season and those names will be placed on the official ballot. Ballots will be distributed through a nationwide voting system to media, coaches and fans, who will select one finalist who best exemplifies excellence in the four Cs of community, classroom, character and competition. The Senior CLASS Award winner will be announced during the 2013 NCAA College World Series® in Omaha June 15-26.

Enos has played in 75 career games for the Crusaders and has started in 45 contests. He was named to the second team All-Patriot League and Academic All-Patriot League in 2012. He holds a career .313 batting average with 29 runs scored, 14 doubles, three home runs and 27 RBIs. Enos also enters this season with the sixth best fielding percentage in Holy Cross history at .988. In the classroom, Enos holds a 3.65 cumulative grade point average and has been on the dean's list for the last three years. He was also the recipient of the Desmaris Scholarship and the Charles S. Dana Scholarship.

He is also a two-year member of the Holy Cross Leadership Academy and has also been the point person for many of the team's community service activities. His leadership goes a step further as he has been a part of Residence Life & Housing at Holy Cross since his sophomore year. As a senior, he is the Student Resident Director for the senior housing at Holy Cross and supervises four resident assistants in the complex. Enos also was the campus-wide coordinator for the Holy Cross Thanksgiving Basket Program, in which he helped donate Thanksgiving meals to over 20 families in Worcester.  

In the community, Enos has participated in Big Brothers/Big Sisters, Aptissimi: Leadership Conference, Benching for Breast Cancer, Light the Night Walk for Leukemia & Lymphoma, Relay for Life and Holy Cross Cares Day.

Holy Cross returns to action on Saturday, March 2, when it travels to Reno, Nev. to take on Nevada in a doubleheader beginning at 2:00 p.m. Eastern Time.
