WORCESTER, Mass. - Senior righthanded pitcher Tom Marra (Sea Cliff, N.Y.) has been named the AT&T Crusader of the Week, for competition from April 1-7. Marra helped lead the Holy Cross baseball team to a 4-2 mark in six games over the past week.
During his only appearance last week, Marra threw a complete game shutout in the Crusaders' 3-0 victory at Lafayette on Saturday, in the opener of a four-game series. He allowed only four hits and one walk against the Leopards, while striking out seven in seven innings of work. Marra's performance marked the first complete game by a Holy Cross pitcher this season, and the first shutout of his collegiate career.
On the season, Marra now stands 1-3 with a 5.57 earned run average and 18 strikeouts in 32-1/3 innings of work. During his career with the Crusaders, he owns an overall record of 7-9 with a 5.41 earned run average and 91 strikeouts.
Holy Cross (14-16 overall, 6-2 Patriot League) returns to action on Tuesday, April 9, when it travels to Central Connecticut for a 3:00 p.m. game.
