WORCESTER, Mass. - Junior outfielder Jamie Aldrich (Stratford, Conn.) has been named the Holiday Inn Express Crusader of the Week, for competition from March 20-26. Aldrich had multiple hits in every contest last week, as the Holy Cross baseball team posted a 2-1 record over three games.
Hitting out of the lead-off spot in the batting order, Aldrich began the week by going two for four with a triple, a walk and a run scored in a 9-2 loss at Northeastern on March 21. He then went two for four with a run batted in, a run scored and a walk in the 8-4 victory over Bentley on March 24. To conclude the week, Aldrich was two for four with two runs scored, a run batted in, a stolen base and a walk in the 8-5 win over Wheaton on March 26.
Over the course of the three games last week, Aldrich batted .500, with a .600 on-base percentage and four runs scored. Overall this season, he now has a team-best .415 batting average, with nine runs scored, seven runs batted in and four stolen bases.
The Holy Cross baseball team (9-6 overall) returns to action on Tuesday, March 28, when it travels to Siena for a 3:00 p.m. game.
