WORCESTER, Mass. - Junior third baseman Matt Perry (Sudbury, Mass.) has been named the AT&T Crusader of the Week, for competition from April 13-19. Perry led the Holy Cross baseball team to a 5-3 record on the week, including a 4-2 mark against Patriot League opponents.
Over the course of last week's games, Perry went 23-for-37 (.622) with four doubles, 10 runs scored and nine runs batted in. During Saturday's 14-10 victory at Lafayette, he was five-for-six with two runs scored and two runs batted in. Perry also went four-for-six with four runs scored and two runs batted in during the 13-10 win at Central Connecticut on Tuesday, while having a four-for-five day with three runs batted in during the 11-7 victory over Bucknell on Monday.
On the season, Perry leads the team with a .430 batting average, 14 doubles and 32 runs scored. He has also totaled six home runs and 30 runs batted in this year.
The Crusaders (17-22 overall, 8-6 Patriot League) return to action on Tuesday, April 21, when they travel to Sanford, Maine, to face Maine at 4:00 p.m.
