WORCESTER, Mass. - Senior center Eric Meister (Boalsburg, Pa.) has been named the AT&T Crusader of the Week, for competition from December 21-27. Meister posed his first double-double of the season, as the Holy Cross men's basketball team suffered a narrow 82-79 loss to Sacred Heart on Dec. 22.
In the Sacred Heart game, Meister scored a season-best 14 points, while hitting seven of 13 shots from the field. He also pulled down a career-high 16 rebounds, including seven boards on the offensive end of the court. In addition, Meister added an assist, a blocked shot and a steal.
On the season, Meister is averaging 6.7 points and 6.5 rebounds per game, while shooting a team-best 53.1 percent (34 of 64) from the floor. Over the course of his collegiate career, he has now totaled 467 points, 419 rebounds and 63 blocked shots, while making 51.2 percent (199 of 389) of his field goal attempts.
The Crusaders return to action on Monday, Dec. 28, when they play host to George Washington at 7:00 p.m.
