WORCESTER, Mass. - Junior forward Malcolm Miller (Laytonsville, Md.) has been named the GoHolyCross.com Crusader of the Week, for competition from December 16-22. Miller helped the Holy Cross men's basketball team to a 1-1 record in a pair of games last week.
During Monday's 83-73 loss to Canisius, Miller totaled 15 points, four rebounds and four assists. Then in Saturday's 74-55 victory at New Jersey Tech, he led the team with 18 points, nine rebounds, seven blocked shots and three assists. Miller tied his career high by scoring 18 points against the Highlanders, while setting a new career high for blocks (seven) and a new season high for rebounds (nine). Over the course of the two games, he averaged 16.5 points, 6.5 rebounds, 4.0 blocks and 3.5 assists, while making nine of 15 field goals (60.0 percent) and 13 of 15 free throws (86.7 percent).
On the season Miller is averaging 9.8 points, 4.5 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 1.7 blocks and 1.1 steals per game. Over the course of his collegiate career, he has now totaled 312 points, 240 rebounds, 80 assists, 51 blocked shots and 36 steals.
Holy Cross (6-5 overall) returns to action on Saturday, Dec. 28, when it travels to Michigan for a 6:30 p.m. game which will be shown live on the Big Ten Network.
