Tim Clifford Named Crusader Of The Week

WORCESTER, Mass. - Senior center Tim Clifford (Walpole, Mass.) has been named the GoHolyCross.com Crusader of the Week, for competition from December 17-23. Clifford and the men's basketball team dropped a close game in their only action last week, falling 84-77 in overtime at Siena.

Against Siena, Clifford led Holy Cross with a season-high 26 points, in addition to pulling down six rebounds. He hit 11 of 16 shots from the field against the Saints, including two of four attempts from three-point range. Both of Clifford's three-pointers came in the final 12 seconds of regulation, including one at the final buzzer, helping the Crusaders to force overtime.

On the season, Clifford is averaging a team-best 16.7 points, 5.0 rebounds and 1.7 blocked shots per game. He has also made 62.7 percent (64 of 102) of his field goal attempts this year. Over the course of his Holy Cross career, Clifford has totaled 875 points, 401 rebounds and a school-record 158 blocked shots.

The Crusaders return to action on Sunday, December 30, when they travel to Sacred Heart for a 4:00 p.m. game.
