Crusaders Set To Start Spring Practice
WORCESTER, Mass. - The Holy Cross football team is scheduled to hold its first spring practice session of 2010 on Thursday, March 18, at 7:00 p.m. The Crusaders are coming off a 2009 season in which they posted an overall record of 9-3, won the Patriot League championship with a 5-1 mark in conference games, and advanced to the NCAA playoffs for only the second time in school history.
Holy Cross returns 12 starters off last year's squad. Among the returnees are 10 players who have earned All-Patriot League honors during their collegiate careers: senior wide receiver Luke Chmielinski (Walpole, Mass.), senior strong safety Anthony DiMichele (McKees Rocks, Pa.), senior placekicker Rob Dornfried (Berlin, Conn.), senior free safety Alex Johnson (Indianapolis, Ind.), senior linebacker Sean Lamkin (Jenks, Okla.), senior punter Don Lemieux (Gardner, Mass.), senior offensive tackle Mike McCabe (Watertown, Conn.), senior defensive end Mude Ohimor (Stoughton, Mass.), senior wide receiver Freddie Santana (Staten Island, N.Y.) and junior tight end Alex Schneider (Inner Grove Heights, Minn.).
