HIGH SCHOOL:
• Played for head coach Fred Stengel at Bergen Catholic High School.
• Served as team captain during his senior season.
• Earned All-North Jersey Tri County Conference honors in 2008 and 2009.
• Selected All-Bergen County as a senior.
• Recorded 94 tackles, eight tackles for loss, eight forced fumbles and five fumble recoveries as a senior.
• Totaled 197 tackles and 17 tackles for loss over the course of his high school career.
• Led the team in tackles during both his junior (103) and senior (94) seasons.
• Member of National Honor Society.

PERSONAL:
• Son of Jack and Ann McGovern.
• Father, Jack, played football at Holy Cross, graduating in 1980.
• Father was inducted into the Holy Cross Varsity Club Hall of Fame in 1998.
• Uncles, Bill and Rob, both played football at Holy Cross and were inducted into the Holy Cross Varsity Club Hall of Fame.
• Cousin, Tim, is a member of the Holy Cross men’s golf team.
• Has not yet declared a major.
