Ricky Otis Named Patriot League Defensive Player Of The Week
WORCESTER, Mass. – Holy Cross junior linebacker Ricky Otis (Cleves, Ohio) has been named the Patriot League Defensive Player of the Week, for his performance in Saturday's 17-7 loss at Georgetown. This marks the first time Otis has been named the Patriot League Defensive Player of the Week during his collegiate career.
In the Georgetown game, Otis led a Crusader defense which held the Hoyas to just 358 total yards and 17 points. He made a team-best and career-high 16 total tackles on the day, in addition to breaking up a pass. Otis is now tied for fourth on the team with 28 total tackles this season, even though he has missed two games due to injury.
Over the course of his Holy Cross career, Otis has totaled 55 tackles and two pass breakups.
Holy Cross (1-3 overall, 0-1 Patriot League) returns to action this Saturday, Oct. 2, when it plays host to Fordham (2-2 overall, 0-0 Patriot League) as part of Homecoming weekend at 1:00 p.m.
