Ricky Otis Named Patriot League Defensive Player Of The Week
WORCESTER, Mass. – Holy Cross junior linebacker Ricky Otis (Cleves, Ohio) has been named the Patriot League Defensive Player of the Week, for his performance in Saturday's 37-27 victory at Lafayette. This marks the second time Otis has been named the Patriot League Defensive Player of the Week this season, after previously earning the honor on Sept. 27.
In the Lafayette game, Otis led the team with a career-high 17 total tackles, including 11 solo stops and one tackle for loss. Against the Leopards, he reached double-figures in tackles for the fourth straight game and the sixth time overall this season. On the year, Otis now leads the team with 96 total tackles, despite missing two games due to injury.
Over the course of his Holy Cross career, Otis has 123 total tackles, two fumble recoveries and two pass breakups.
The Crusaders (5-5 overall, 2-2 Patriot League) return to action this Saturday, Nov. 20, when they play host to Bucknell (1-9 overall, 1-3 Patriot League) at 12:30 p.m. in their final game of the 2010 season.
