WORCESTER, Mass. - The Holy Cross football team returned to campus last week to begin its preparations for the 2011 season. The Crusaders are coming off a 2010 campaign in which they posted their sixth-straight winning record with an overall mark of 6-5 and a 4-2 record against Patriot League foes. Holy Cross, which returns 12 starters and 42 letterwinners, is scheduled to open the 2011 season when it plays host to UMass at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 1, in the first-ever night game at Fitton Field.
The Crusaders held their first practice of the fall on Friday, Aug. 5, with their first double session taking place on Wednesday, Aug. 10.
