WORCESTER, Mass. - Senior quarterback Ryan Taggart (Bedford, Texas) has been named the AT&T Crusader of the Week, for competition from September 5-11. Taggart led the Holy Cross football team to a 37-7 victory over Colgate on Saturday.
During the Colgate game, Taggart accounted for 237 yards of total offense and three touchdowns. He hit on 13 of 16 passes for 223 yards and two scores, in addition to rushing for 14 yards and a touchdown on three carries. Taggart completed 81.3 percent of his passes on the day (13 of 16), and averaged 12.5 yards per play in the game.
In two games played so far this year, Taggart has connected on 36 of 60 attempts for 469 yards and three touchdowns without an interception. During his career with the Crusaders, he has now completed 223 of 379 passes for 2,371 yards and 17 touchdowns, in addition to rushing for 320 yards and seven scores on 100 carries.
Holy Cross (1-1 overall, 1-0 Patriot League) returns to action this Saturday, Sept. 17, when it plays host to Harvard (0-0 overall, 0-0 Ivy League) as part of Homecoming weekend at 1:00 p.m.
