WORCESTER, Mass. - Junior strong safety Tom Mannix (Kenilworth, N.J.) has been named the AT&T Crusader of the Week, for competition from October 10-16. Mannix helped lead the Holy Cross football team to a 25-17 victory over Dartmouth at Fitton Field on Saturday.
During the victory over the Big Green, Mannix posted a team-best eight total tackles, in addition to recording his first interception of the season. He was a key part of a Holy Cross defense which held Dartmouth to just 12 first downs and 224 total yards on the day, including only 83 passing yards.
On the year, Mannix leads the team with 50 total tackles, to go along with an interception, a fumble recovery, two forced fumbles and five pass breakups. During his career with the Crusaders, he has now totaled 101 tackles, two interceptions, three forced fumbles and 11 pass breakups.
Holy Cross returns to action this Saturday, Oct. 22, when it travels to Bucknell for a 1:00 p.m. game.
