Coffaro Named Patriot League Rookie Of The Week
WORCESTER, Mass. – Holy Cross freshman cornerback Ben Coffaro (Cincinnati, Ohio) has been named the Patriot League Rookie of the Week, for his performance in Saturday's 29-24 victory over Lafayette. This marks the first time a Holy Cross player has been named the Patriot League Rookie of the Week during the 2011 season.
In the Lafayette game, Coffaro intercepted a pass in the Holy Cross end zone with 12 seconds left in the fourth quarter, to secure a five-point victory for the Crusaders. He also had two tackles and a pass breakup on defense, while returning three kickoffs for 80 yards, with a long return of 38 yards.
Coffaro's interception against the Leopards was the first of his collegiate career. On the season, he has now averaged 25.4 yards on seven kickoff returns.
Holy Cross (5-5 overall, 3-2 Patriot League) plays its final game of the 2011 season this Saturday, Nov. 19, when it travels to Fordham (1-9 overall, 0-5 Patriot League) for a 1:00 p.m. contest.
