Football Announces 2012 Schedule
WORCESTER, Mass. – Holy Cross head football coach Tom Gilmore and athletic director Richard M. Regan, Jr., have announced the 2012 schedule for the Crusaders. The slate features six home games, and six contests against schools which posted winning records in 2011.
"We are very excited about the schedule we will be playing this season," said Gilmore. "We look forward to opening the season with another night game, and are thrilled to be playing a number of non-conference games against traditional rivals from our region. We also anticipate another season of competitive play within the Patriot League, where we expect every game to be a tough battle."
The Crusaders open the season with a home date against New Hampshire on Aug. 30, in only the second night game ever at Fitton Field. Following an off week, Holy Cross remains at home to take on Brown on Sept. 15, before playing host to Dartmouth as part of Homecoming weekend on Sept. 22. The Crusaders will then hit the road for a game at Harvard on Sept. 29, before returning home for their Patriot League opener against Bucknell on Oct. 6.
Holy Cross will be on the road for its next two games, at Colgate on Oct. 13 and at Lafayette on Oct. 20. The Crusaders will next play Fordham at Fitton Field on Oct. 27 as part of Family Weekend, before playing host to Lehigh on Nov. 3 in their final home contest of the season. Holy Cross will then wrap up the 2012 slate with a pair of road contests, at Wagner on Nov. 10 and at Georgetown on Nov. 17.
The Crusaders are scheduled to begin spring practice on Saturday, March 17, with the annual spring game set for Saturday, April 14.
