Holy Cross Announces 2012 Football Signings

WORCESTER, Mass. — Holy Cross head football coach Tom Gilmore has announced the 2012 incoming class for the Crusaders. Thirty student-athletes will join the Holy Cross program for the 2012-2013 academic year.

"This is one of the strongest and most geographically diverse classes we have brought in during my time at Holy Cross," said Gilmore. "We were able to add quality and depth on both sides of the ball, in addition to addressing some areas of need on special teams."

The 30 players making up this year's class include 13 on offense, 16 on defense and one specialist. Holy Cross has added four wide receivers, four linemen, three running backs, one quarterback and one tight end on the offensive side of the ball, while bringing in six linebackers, six backs and four linemen for the defense.

Holy Cross returns 15 of 24 starters from its 2011 squad which posted an overall record of 6-5 and finished second in the Patriot League with a 3-2 mark in conference games. The Crusaders are scheduled to open spring practice on Saturday, March 17. The annual spring game is set for Saturday, April 14.
