Football Team Set To Start Spring Practice
WORCESTER, Mass. - The Holy Cross football team is scheduled to hold its first spring practice session of 2012 on Monday, March 19, at 5:00 p.m. The Crusaders are coming off a 2011 season in which they posted an overall record of 6-5 and finished second in the Patriot League with a 4-2 mark in conference games.
Holy Cross returns 17 starters off last year's squad. Among the returnees are seven players who have earned All-Patriot League honors during their collegiate careers: junior wide receiver Mike Fess (Caldwell, N.J.), senior defensive tackle Jack Maliska (Winchendon, Mass.), senior strong safety Tom Mannix (Kenilworth, N.J.),senior wide receiver Gerald Mistretta (Brooklyn, N.Y.), senior tight end Alex Schneider (Inver Grove Heights, Minn.), junior linebacker Mike Tucker (Chester Springs, Pa.) and senior center Sean Whited (Canton, Ohio).
