Holy Cross Announces 2013 Football Schedule
WORCESTER, Mass. – Holy Cross head football coach Tom Gilmore and athletic director Richard M. Regan, Jr., have announced the 2013 schedule for the Crusaders. For only the third time in school history, Holy Cross is scheduled to play 12 regular season games. The slate also features six home games, and six contests against schools which posted winning records in 2012.
"We will once again face an exciting and challenging schedule this fall," said Gilmore. "The non-conference portion of our schedule will be very competitive, as we play several top teams from a number of different conferences. We hope that those games will help prepare us for the difficult battles we will face in Patriot League play."
The Crusaders begin the season at Bryant on Aug. 31, then play host to Towson in their home opener on Sept. 7. Holy Cross will next travel to Central Connecticut on Sept. 14 and face Monmouth at Fitton Field on Sept. 21. Following a road date at Dartmouth on Sept. 28, the Crusaders wrap up the non-conference portion of their schedule by playing host to Harvard as part of Homecoming Weekend on Oct. 5.
Holy Cross will open Patriot League play at Bucknell on Oct. 12, before playing host to Colgate (Oct. 19) and Lafayette (Oct. 26, Family Weekend). The Crusaders will then hit the road for contests at Fordham on Nov. 2 and at Lehigh on Nov. 9. Holy Cross wraps up the 2013 slate at home against Georgetown on Nov. 23.
The Crusaders are currently taking part in spring practice, with the annual spring game set for Saturday, April 13.
