Acquah Named To CFPA Defensive Lineman Award Watch List

WORCESTER, Mass. - Holy Cross senior defensive lineman Gary Acquah (Bronx, N.Y.) has been selected to the 2013 College Football Performance Awards Watch List for the Football Championship Subdivision Defensive Lineman Award. Acquah was among 38 players from teams around the nation named to the list. 

Acquah earned second team All-Patriot League honors in 2012, after starting all 11 games for the Crusaders at defensive end. He totaled 54 tackles on the season, including 35 solo stops, two quarterback sacks and seven tackles for loss. In addition, Acquah posted one pass breakup and one blocked extra point last year. He led all Holy Cross defensive linemen in tackles for the second straight season, while placing 28th in the Patriot League in total tackles. Over the course of his collegiate career, Acquah has now totaled 94 tackles, four quarterback sacks and 10 tackles for loss in 22 games played.

Recipients are selected exclusively based upon objective scientific rankings of the extent to which individual players increase the overall effectiveness of their teams.
