AS A SOPHOMORE IN 2011:
• Played in all 11 games with one start at defensive end and outside linebacker.
• Totaled 13 tackles on the season.
• Recorded four tackles, a sack and a forced fumble at Lehigh in his first career start.
• Made four solo tackles during the season-ending victory at Fordham.
• Had a pair of solo tackles in the win over Lafayette.
• Also made tackles against Brown, Colgate and Massachusetts.

AS A FRESHMAN IN 2010:
• Did not see any varsity action.

HIGH SCHOOL:
• Played for head coach Patrick Kane at Hermitage High School.
• Named second team All-State and first team All-Metro as a senior.
• A three-time first team All-District selection, while earning first team All-Region honors twice.
• Led team to three straight district championships, along with a regional title and a state semifinal appearance in 2009.
• Team posted an overall record of 27-7 during his three years on the varsity.
• Totaled 225 tackles, nine sacks, six forced fumbles and four fumble recoveries over the course of his high school career.
• Ranks third all-time in school history in career tackles.
• Also a member of the wrestling team.
• Member of National Honor Society.

PERSONAL:
• Son of Daryl and Sonya Howell.
• Has one sister (Victoria).
• Father was a member of the football, basketball, track and tennis teams at Virginia State University.
• Majoring in Sociology.
