Holy Cross Football Announces 2008 Incoming Class

March 26, 2008

WORCESTER, Mass. -- Holy Cross head football coach Tom Gilmore has announced the 2008 incoming class for the Crusaders. Twenty-two student-athletes will join the Holy Cross program for the 2008-2009 academic year.

"We are very excited about the quality of our incoming class," said Gilmore. "This is a smaller class, because we have a large number of returning players currently in the program, and did not have as many slots to fill. But that allowed us to be much more selective, and bring in high quality student-athletes."

The 22 players making up this year's class include 11 on offense, 10 on defense and one kicker. Holy Cross has added three wide receivers, three linemen, two running backs, two quarterbacks and one tight end on the offensive side of the ball, while bringing in four backs, three linebackers and three linemen for the defense.

Holy Cross returns 16 of 24 starters from its 2007 squad which finished with an overall record of 7-4 and a 4-2 mark in the Patriot League. The Crusaders are scheduled to play their annual spring game on Saturday, April 19, and will open the 2008 season against Massachusetts on Sept. 6.
