WORCESTER, Mass. - The Holy Cross football team has been ranked No. 25 in the nation by the Street & Smith's 2007 College Football Yearbook. The Crusaders were the only team from the Patriot League to be ranked in the nation's Top 25. In addition, Holy Cross was predicted as the preseason favorite to win the Patriot League, and junior quarterback Dominic Randolph (Amelia, Ohio) was named the preseason Patriot League Offensive Player of the Year.
Earlier this summer, Phil Steele's 2007 College Football Preview also picked Holy Cross to be the No. 25 team in the nation, while naming Holy Cross and Lehigh as co-favorites to win the conference. In the Patriot League's preseason poll of coaches and sports information directors, the Crusaders were predicted to finish in fourth place in the conference.
Holy Cross is scheduled to open the 2007 season on Saturday, September 1, when it travels to UMass for a 1:00 p.m. game.
