WORCESTER, Mass . - Holy Cross freshman defensive back Kenneth Flanders (Atlanta, Ga.) has been named the Patriot League Rookie of the Week for games ending October 30, it was announced by the conference office. Flanders recorded six total tackles, including four solo stops, in addition to forcing a fumble in the Crusaders' 42-27 setback against Bucknell on Saturday. He ranked second on the team with his six total tackles in the game.
On the season, Flanders has now recorded 33 total tackles during the 2004 season, the third-most on the team. In addition, he has now started the last five games in a row for the Crusaders at strong safety.
This is the second time this season Flanders has been named Patriot League Rookie of the Week, as he also earned the honor following the 24-0 win over Dartmouth on October 16.
Holy Cross (1-7 overall, 0-4 Patriot League) will return to action this Saturday, November 6, when it plays host to Marist at 12:30 p.m. in its final home game of the 2004 season.
