Crusaders Finish 16th At Hartford Invitational
SOUTH KENT, Conn. – Senior Steve Zychowski (Mendham, N.J.) finished in a 52nd place at 19-over par with a three-round total of 235 strokes, as the Holy Cross men's golf team placed 16th at the Hartford Invitational, held at the Bulls Bridge Country Club. The Crusaders finished with a total of 970 strokes as a team, while Hartford won the team title with 875 strokes. Brandon Matthews of Temple captured the individual crown with a total of 214 strokes (two-under par).
Following Zychowski, junior Tim DiStefano (Albany, N.Y.) was the next best finisher for Holy Cross, placing 74th with 245 total strokes. Senior Roberto Machado (Miami, Fla.) followed in 76th place with 247 strokes, while sophomore Connor Burfeind (Falmouth, Maine) came in 83rd (255 strokes) and sophomore John Reali (Searingtown, N.Y.) was 85th (259 strokes).
The Crusaders return to action on Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 29 and 30, when they take part in the MacDonald Club at the Course at Yale in New Haven, Conn.
