Men’s Golf Places Sixth In Patriot League Championship
BETHLEHEM, Pa – The Holy Cross men's golf team concluded the 2012-2013 season with a sixth place finish at the Patriot League Championship held on the par-72 Grace Course at the Saucon Valley Country Club on Saturday and Sunday, April 27-28. The Crusaders shot a three-round total of 950 (+86) as Lehigh claimed the tournament crown with a combined score of 898 (+34).
Navy finished in second with a total score of 905 (+41), while Army (915), Bucknell (929) and Lafayette (948) rounded out the top five. Colgate finished in seventh place with a score of 965 (+101). Navy's Chris House won the tournament medalist with a three-day total of 219 (+3).
Holy Cross senior co-captain Steve Zychowski (Mendham, N.J.) led the Crusaders with a three-day score of 233 (+17), which tied him for 14th place. Holy Cross sophomore John Reali (Searingtown, N.Y.) and senior co-captain Michael McCarthy (Tolland, Conn.) both tied for 22nd place with a total score of 240 (+24).
Senior co-captain Roberto Machado (Miami, Fla.) carded a 243 (+27), which placed him in a tie for 27th. Junior Peter Cahill (Wellesley, Mass.) tied for 35th place with a three-round total of 247 (+31), while junior Tim DiStefano (Albany, N.Y.) finished in 38th with a total score of 248 (+32).
