Matt Lombardi 7 (Price, Shea) Short Handed
Senior forward Matt Lombardi forced a turnover at the Boston College blue line and skated the length of the ice and beat the Alaska goaltender Scott Greenham through the five hole on the backhand. The short handed goal was Lombardi’s seventh of the year and was assisted by Matt Price (11) and Edwin Shea (6).

Andy Taranto 18 (Knelsen, Sova) Power Play
Sophomore defensemen Joe Sova sent the puck around the boards from the BC blue line, where it was picked up behind the net by senior forward Dion Knelsen. Knelsen’s centering pass took a deflection off a BC defender and BC goaltender John Muse and ended up on the stick of freshman Andy Taranto who beat Muse block-side. The goal was Taranto’s 18th of the season with assists going to Knelsen (24) and Sova (18).

Pat Mullane 8 (Carey, Alber)
Freshman forward Pat Mullane skated into the Alaska zone and gave a pass to freshman winger Steven Whitney at the top of the left wing circle. Whitney made a pass back to freshman defenseman Patch Alber on the point who took a shot on net. The puck banked off sophomore forward Paul Carey onto the stick Mullane who deflected it back in the net. The tally was Mullane’s eighth of the season with assists going to Carey (12) and Alber (2).

With the Alaska net empty, senior forward Matt Price caused a turnover at the BC blue line and was hauled down from behind in the Alaska zone. Since the net was empty Price was awarded the goal. The tally was Price’s fourth of the season and it was unassisted.
