WORCESTER, Mass. - Senior forward Andrew Cox (Lombardy, Ontario) has been named the AT&T Crusader of the Week, for competition from November 28-December 4. Cox helped lead the Holy Cross men's ice hockey team to a 2-0 record in a pair of games against Canisius last week.
During Friday night's 3-2 victory over the Golden Griffins, Cox scored a pair of power play goals for the Crusaders. His first goal came at the 12:03-mark of the first period and gave Holy Cross a 2-1 lead, while his second goal broke a 2-2 tie at the 17:46-mark of the third period and proved to be the game winniner. Cox then added a goal and an assist in Saturday's 4-0 win over Canisius. He once again netted the game-winning goal, scoring just 1:07 into the first period to give the Crusaders an early 1-0 lead.
On the season, Cox now leads the team in scoring with 13 points on four goals and nine assists. Over the course of his collegiate career, he has now totaled 48 points on 19 goals and 29 assists.
Holy Cross (7-7 overall, 5-4 in Atlantic Hockey) returns to action on Saturday, Dec. 10, when it plays host to Army at 4:00 p.m.
