WORCESTER, Mass. - Senior forward Brandon Nunn (Fairport, N.Y.) has been named the AT&T Crusader of the Week, for competition from December 24-30. Nunn posted two goals and one assist for three points including netting the game-winner in the 5-4 victory over No. 15 Yale on Dec. 30.
Nunn assisted on the Crusaders' second goal of the game, while he netted the team's third and fifth goal. The game-winner was his second of the season and the fourth of his career. Nunn is tied for second on the team with seven goals and is tied for fourth with 12 points. For his career he has 30 goals and 24 assists for 54 points.
The Crusaders (10-4-2 overall, 6-3-2 Atlantic Hockey), who are ranked No. 20 in the latest USCHO.com Division I National Poll, return to action on Friday and Saturday, Jan. 4-5, when they travel to Grand Forks, N.D., to take on No. 7 North Dakota (10-5-3 overall, 7-2-3 WCHA) at the Ralph Engelstad Arena. Friday's game is at 8:30 p.m. (ET) and Saturday's contest is at 8:00 p.m. (ET).
The Crusaders' 10-4-2 record is their best after 16 games since the 2003-2004 season when they were 11-4-1. Holy Cross is averaging 3.50 goals scored per game which are tied for fourth in the nation. Also the Crusaders' .688 team winning percentage is ninth in the country.
