Sheen and the Crusaders will open the season on Oct. 17-18 when they host Atlantic Hockey opponent Canisius in a two-game series.          <description><![CDATA[Former Holy Cross hockey player Patrick Rissmiller has signed with the New York Rangers as announced by the team's president and general manager Glen Sather. Rissmiller, who was an unrestricted free agent, had 18 goals and 27 assists for 45 points in 180 NHL games with the San Jose Sharks. Last year, he recorded eight goals and nine assists for 17 points in 79 games with San Jose. In the 2006-2007 season, Rissmiller scored seven goals and had 15 assists.]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[Former Holy Cross hockey player Dale Reinhardt has re-signed with the Bakersfield Condors. The Condors are the official ECHL affiliate of the Anaheim Ducks. Reinhardt scored five goals and had two assists for seven points in just nine games as Bakersfield qualified for the Kelly Cup Playoffs. On March 28, he recorded his first professional hat trick which included a shorthanded goal. Reinhardt finished his Holy Cross career with 46 goals and 72 assists.]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[Holy Cross senior Brent Franklin has received the Atlantic Hockey Top Scholar Athlete Award, while the Crusaders placed 17 players on the 2007-2008 Atlantic Hockey All-Academic Team, which were tied for the second most in the league. Franklin earned a perfect 4.0 grade point average this academic year to earn the honor along with Mike Field of AIC who also had a 4.0. Franklin also earned a spot on the Academic All-Star Team as a defenseman.]]></description>

The players include five forwards and four defensemen. The forwards are Gianni Baldassari, Andrew Cox, Matt Gordon, Luke Miller and Jay Silvia. Reinhardt finished his Holy Cross career with 46 goals and 72 assists for 118 points in 138 career games. He is ranked seventh on the all-time Holy Cross Division I assists list, while he is eighth in points and goals. His 138 games are tied for fourth on the all-time games played list at the school. This season he was second on the team in assists with 18 and points with 26.]]></description>
