WORCESTER, Mass. - Sophomore attackman Clay Haarmann (Mendham, N.J.) has been named the AT&T Crusader of the Week, for competition from February 25-March 3. Haarmann totaled 10 goals and one assist last week, as the Holy Cross men's lacrosse team posted a 1-1 record in two games.
During Tuesday's 16-12 loss at Harvard, Haarmann led the team with a career-high seven goals and one assists. Then in Saturday's 11-9 victory at Sacred Heart, he added three goals and a team-best seven groundballs. Haarmann's seven goals scored against Harvard tied for the fourth-most ever by a Holy Cross player in a single game.
On the season, Haarmann now leads the team in scoring with 14 points on 13 goals and one assists. Over the course of his collegiate career, he has totaled 24 goals and six assists for 30 points.
Holy Cross (2-2 overall) returns to action on Tuesday, March 5, when it travels to Rutgers for a 3:00 p.m. game.
