Dan McKeon is in his first season as an assistant men’s lacrosse coach at Holy Cross in 2013.
McKeon spent the 2012 season as an assistant coach at Siena College, where he coached the goalies and face-off specialists while assisting the defensive coordinator. He coached Siena goalie Tom Morr, who was named the 2012 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Year. Siena went 11-5 overall in 2012, winning the MAAC regular season title and advancing to the MAAC championship game.
During the 2010 and 2011 seasons, McKeon was a volunteer assistant coach at Union College. He coached goalie Sean Aaron, who earned All-America honors in both 2010 and 2011. Union won the 2011 Liberty League championship and advanced it to the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
As a four-year member of the men’s lacrosse team at Albany as a goalie, McKeon appeared in 42 games. As a sophomore he played in 18 games as the Great Danes won the America East championship and made it to the NCAA quarterfinals. McKeon was also a member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.
A native of Camillus, N.Y., McKeon attended West Genesee High School where he was the starting goalie in 2004 and 2005 as the team won the New York state championship both years. He earned 2005 first team All-Central New York honors, after being named to the third team in 2004. McKeon was a member of the 2004 Central Empire State Games team which won the gold medal.
McKeon earned his bachelor’s degree from Albany in 2009, with a sociology major and a minor in business administration. His cousin Brian McKeon graduated from Holy Cross (Class of 2003) and played on the 2001 men’s lacrosse team.
