2011-2012: Rowed for the freshman eight that placed second out of 24 boats at the Green Monster Regatta (Nov. 5)...did not compete in the spring due to injury.

Before Holy Cross: Competed for coach Mike Irwin with the Essex Rowing Club…a 2011 Salem News Student Athlete of the Year nominee…member of varsity eight that placed fourth at the 2009 Textile River Regatta…part of the varsity eight which placed sixth at the 2009 Head of the Schuylkill…varsity eight finished third at the 2011 Saratoga Invitational, Lowell Invitational and N.E. Junior District Championship…attended Masconomet Regional H.S., where he was a two-year member of the varsity basketball team…senior captain…won the 2010-2011 Coaches Award, while he was a 2009-2010 and 2010-2011 scholar athlete…member of National Honor Society.

Personal: Son of Richard and Ellen Zaniewski…has one brother (Ben) and one sister (Jessica)...majoring in Biology.
