Men's Rowing Sweeps Bucknell At Home
WORCESTER, Mass. - The Holy Cross men's rowing's first, second and fourth varsity eights each won their races against Bucknell on Lake Quinsigamond. The third varsity eigh finished in second of three in its race, while the fifth varsity eight finished in third of three in its race.
The first varsity eight posted a 5:48.5, which defeated Bucknell's first varsity eight with a time of 6:02.0.
The second varsity eight won its race with a time of 6:03.6. The third varsity eight finished in second in the race with a time of 6:07.0 also defeating Bucknell's second varsity eight which recorded a 6:08.6.
The Holy Cross fourth varsity eight finished in first with a time of 6:12.6, defeating the Bucknell freshman eight, which recorded a 6:18.4. The fifth varsity eight finished in third during the race with a time of 7:02.0.
The Crusaders return to action on May 18 when they compete at the Eastern Sprints on Lake Quinsigamond.
Prior to the race, the men's rowing team held a ceremony to dedicate a boat to a loyal supporter of the program, alum and team dentist Dick Simitis (Class of 1968).
