
Jim Barr is in his first season as an assistant men's rowing coach in 2012-2013.
Barr was a standout athlete at Temple, being named freshman rower of the year in 2009. His senior year, he led the varsity eight to a second place finish at the Navy Day Regatta and was a member of the varsity eight which placed eighth at the Princeton Chase. He stroked his boat to two first place finishes, taking gold at the Frostbite Regatta and at the Braxton Regatta in his fall season. Barr started his senior spring season with two gold medal finishes, stroking in the varsity eight boat at the Stetson Sprints Regatta and the Knecht Cup Regatta.
Barr is a graduate of Winter Park High School in Winter Park, Fla. During his junior and senior years at Winter Park, Barr stroked in one of the top three scholastic eight boats in the nation.
Barr was an advertising major and graduated from Temple in 2012.
