Men's Soccer Names 2012 Team Captains

WORCESTER, Mass. The Holy Cross men's soccer program has named senior Pat McCann (Rockville Centre, N.Y.) and junior Monty Sanders (Temecula, Calif.) as 2012 team captains.

"Pat and Monty are true leaders by example," said head coach Marco Koolman. "Their soccer talent and their leadership style complement each other well. I am happy to have two well-rounded captains with these qualities."

McCann, who was also a team captain last year, has played in 47 career games with 46 starts as he has two goals and four assists for eight points. Last season he posted two goals and one assist for five points. He was named to the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll in 2010 and is a member of the Holy Cross Leadership Academy.

Monty Sanders

Sanders has played and started in 34 career games with four career goals. Last season he tied for the team lead with three goals and ranked third on the team in points. Also last year he was named to the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll and is a member of the Holy Cross Leadership Academy.

The Crusaders start the regular season with a home game at the Linda Johnson Smith Soccer Stadium on Thursday, Aug. 30 at 7:00 p.m., versus Quinnipiac.
