  • The Holy Cross men's soccer team returns to action when it plays at Boston University on Tuesday, Sept. 18, at 7:00 p.m. at Nickerson Field. The Crusaders will then open Patriot League play with a home game versus Army at the Linda Johnson Smith Soccer Stadium at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 22. Last season, the Crusaders fell to the Terriers by a 2-0 score on Aug. 26. Holy Cross is 3-1-1 over the last five games versus Army. Last season, the Black Knights defeated the Crusaders, 2-1 on Sept. 24.
  • Boston University is 1-4-2 so far this season. The Terriers have played six games versus nationally ranked teams. BU has a win over No. 11 Boston College, losses versus No. 13 St. John's, No. 16 Wake Forest, No. 1 North Carolina and No. 24 Brown, while it has ties versus Providence and No. 3 Connecticut. Army is 2-5-0 so far this season with wins versus Air Force and Iona, and losses against Seton Hall, Binghamton, No. 18 Louisville, Cal State Northridge and Cal Poly.
  • Junior Josh Cintas (San Diego, Calif.) led the Crusaders with three points last week. He posted one goal and one assist in the 2-1 win versus Rhode Island, including scoring his first career game-winner. This was the Crusaders' first win over the Rams since a 1-0 overtime victory on Oct. 29, 1966 as Holy Cross had lost 10 straight games to URI. He leads the team this season with three goals and seven points, while he also has one assist. His 0.60 goals per game lead the Patriot League and are 54th nationally, while his 1.40 points per game are second in the league and 59th nationally. For his career he has four goals and six assists for 14 points.
  • Freshmen Andrew Rhodes (St. Louis, Mo.) and Luke Melody (Mansfield, Conn.) scored their first collegiate goals last week. Rhodes found the back of the net versus Providence. Melody scored versus Rhode Island.
