WORCESTER, Mass. – Holy Cross senior forward Josh Cintas (San Diego, Calif.) has been named the Patriot League Men's Soccer Brine Offensive Player of the Week for netting the game-winning goal in the 3-2 overtime victory at Colgate on Oct. 19. This is his first career Patriot League weekly honor.
After freshman Joey DeVivo (Ridgefield, Conn.) tied the game at 2-2 with 11 seconds left to force overtime, Cintas scored the game-winner in overtime to give the Crusaders a 3-2 win in the 99th minute at Colgate. The goal was his second of the season and his first game-winner. He now has three career game-winners. This season he has two goals and one assist for five points, while for his career he has nine goals and seven assists for 25 points.
With the win at Colgate, the Crusaders have now won three straight games for the first time since 2009 and have won six of the last eight games to bring their record to 6-5-1 overall (4-1-0 PL). This win marks the team's most wins since the 2009 season, when the team went 6-10-0 overall. It also is the most PL wins since the 2009 team went 4-3-0, and the most road wins in the PL since the team went 3-0-0 on the road in 1999.
