
John Frederick is in his second season as an assistant coach for the Crusaders in 2010. He came to Holy Cross after 10 years as the head boys’ soccer coach at Algonquin Regional High School in Northborough, Mass. Frederick’s teams enjoyed great success at Algonquin, as the 2004 and 2005 squads went undefeated and won Division I state championships. The 2005 Massachusetts Division I Coach of the Year, Frederick also led his 2006 team to the state finals, while his 2008 squad went undefeated in the regular season.
Before his time at Algonquin,
Frederick was the head boys’ coach at Marlborough High School
for four years. He also has administrative experience as president
of the Central Massachusetts Soccer Coaches’ Association, and
as secretary of the Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic
Association’s Soccer Committee.
Frederick has also coached for
numerous other programs, including the New England Revolution Youth
Academy, and with the Massachusetts O.D.P. under-17 boys’
team. He is a 1993 graduate of Vermont with a degree in Education
and English.
