2009-2010: Swam personal-best times at the Patriot League Championship in the 100 free (54.04), 500 free (5:13.41) and 200 breast (2:14.72)...hit a personal-best time of 25.73 in the 50 free at the Terrier Invitational...named to the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll.

2008-2009: Had personal-best times in the 1650 free (18:13.54), 100 breast (1:02.13) and 200 breast (2:17.30) at the Patriot League Championship...named to the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll.

Before Holy Cross: Four-year letterwinner at Williamsville North H.S. under coach Flynn Burroughs...helped team to two ECIC, one section VI championships and two undefeated seasons...New York state qualifier in 100 breaststroke senior year...swims for STAR swim club (UBAM branch) under coaches Flynn Burroughs and Michael Tomes...served as captain of both high school and club team...four-year member of volleyball team...treasurer of WNHS National Honor Society.

Personal: Son of Michael and Barbara Burns... has two sisters...majoring in Biology.
