CENTER VALLEY, Pa. – The Holy Cross men's swimming and diving team was selected to finish eighth in the 2012-2013 Patriot League preseason poll as voted on by head coaches and sports information directors from around the league. Last season's Patriot League champion, Navy, was selected to finish first with 14 first place votes and 98 points. The Midshipmen won their ninth straight championship last season with 1,029.5 points, and have won every title since joining the league in 2004.
Last season's runner-up, Bucknell, was selected second with 82 points and one first place vote, while Army was selected third with 77 points and also received one first place vote. Lehigh was voted fourth with 63 points, American landed fifth with 43 points and Colgate took the sixth spot with 39 points. Lafayette (32) and Holy Cross (14) rounded out the preseason poll.
Holy Cross will begin its 2012-2013 campaign on Saturday, Oct. 13, at 1:00 p.m. in a dual meet versus Fairfield at the Hart Center.
