         <description><![CDATA[Fourteen members of the Holy Cross men's swimming and diving team have been selected to the 2008 Patriot League Academic Honor Roll, as announced by the league office, including senior Chris Smith (West Haven, Conn.), junior Brian Hendrickson (West Hartford, Conn.) and freshman Matt Mullaney (Livingston, N.J.) who each earned perfect 4.0 grade-point averages in the spring semester. They were three of just nine members of the men's swimming and diving honor roll to record a 4.0. Holy Cross' 14 selections were the third most in the league.]]></description>

The United States Naval academy won the men's title while Colgate won the women's title. The Holy Cross men's swimming and diving team earned a total of 124 points over the three day event as the women's team earned 150 points in the Championship.]]></description>

The Crusaders were defeated in a close meet by the Eagles 152-124 to end their regular season competition. Holy Cross took six first place finishes for the day.Sophomore standout Joshua Rodriguez (Dudley, Mass.) took firsts in both diving events. In the one-meter dive he had a high score of 191.25.]]></description>

Smith won two individual events and was a part of a winning relay team last Saturday, while leading the Holy Cross men's swimming and diving team to a 127-112 victory over Providence.In the Providence meet, Smith won the 500-yard freestyle in a time of 5:05.36. He also captured first place in the 1000-yard freestyle.]]></description>

Competing against Clark and Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI), Holy Cross prevailed over the annual two-day event that crowns the Worcester City Champion. The Crusaders earned a total of 414 points on the weekend. WPI came in second, accruing 358 points and Clark took third with 228 points.]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[The 2007-2008 Patriot League polls have been voted on for the men's and women's swimming and diving season. After all coaches and all sports information directors have voted for this season, Navy has placed first for both the men and women. On the men's side the votes went with Navy in first with 98 points followed in second by Army with 85 points and Bucknell in third (74 points). Colgate, Lehigh, American, Lafayette and Holy Cross rounded out the men's poll.]]></description>
