2010: Ran a personal-best in the 1,000 (2:46.34), 1,500 (4:02.91), one mile (4:26.58), 3,000 (9:05.57), 5,000 (14:55.46) and 3,000 meter steeplechase (9:19.16) .... recorded team-best  finishes in the 1,500 at the Holy Cross Duals and in the steeplechase at the New England Outdoor Championship.

2009: Placed 11th in the 3,000 meter steeple chase at the Patriot League Outdoor Championship with a time of 9:52.32 ... finished with a time of 4:47.52 in the one mile at the Reebok Indoor Games ... ran a time of 16:27.86 in the 5,000 at the Northeastern Spring Open.

Before Holy Cross: Three-year varsity member of the cross country and track teams at Fordham Prep under head coach George Febles … team won the 2008 New York CHSAA Intersectional Indoor City Championship and the 2008 New York CHSAA Sectional Cross Country Championship … served as team captain as a senior ... named varsity cross country MVP in 2007 … won the Most Improved Award in 2005 … honored with the Joe Fox Award in 2008 … set the school record in the 3,000 meter steeplechase (10:21).

Personal: Son of David and Jeanne Altenau … father was on the cross country and track teams at Manhattan … has one brother, Joseph, who ran cross country and track at George Washington ... majoring in Sociology ... also a member of the Holy Cross cross country team.
