Men's Track And Field Competes At Husky Spring Open

DEDHAM, Mass. – The Holy Cross men's track and field team began the spring outdoor season on Saturday traveling to the Solomon Track to compete in the Husky Spring Open hosted by Northeastern. Senior Chase Bradford (West Bridgewater, Mass.) earned the top finish for the Crusaders with a throw of 59.10 meters in the javelin to take second place.

Three Crusaders sophomores took third, fourth and fifth places in the 110 meter hurdles. Paul Coulter (Lakeville, Mass.) took third with a time of 16.78 seconds. Tim Moczula (Edison, N.J.) and Thomas St. Cyr (Temple, N.H.) finished behind Moczula with times of 16.83 and 17.11 seconds, respectively. Freshman Dominic Gerardi (Simsbury, Conn.) placed fifth in the pole vault with a height of 3.51 meters and senior Alex Martin (Sutton, Mass.) took fifth in the triple jump with a distance of 13.46 meters. Freshman John Cicchitti (Warminster, Pa.) finished 10th in the 1,000 meter run with a time of 33.06.04. Freshman Nolan Kiernan (Wakefield, R.I.) took 11th in the discus throw with a distance of 36.83 meters while sophomore Greg Hamalian (West Bridgewater, Mass.) finished 14th in the 5,000 meter run with a time of 15:49.41.

The men's track and field team will continue outdoor action on April 7 when it travels to Durham, N.H. to take on New Hampshire and Maine at 11:00 a.m.
