Track & Field Hosts Final Day Of Holy Cross Decathlon, Heptathlon

WORCESTER, Mass. – The second and final day of the Holy Cross Heptathlon and Holy Cross Decathlon began at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday morning at the Hart Track. Men's decathlon day one frontrunner Stefano Combi from Northeastern maintained his lead and finished first overall with 6,141 total points. Thomas Bove from Roger Williams finished in a close second with 6,136 points. On the women's side, Nicolle Adams, who stood in second place after day one, made a surge on day two to take home the victory in the heptathlon with 4,059 points.

Sophomore Amenawon Johnson (Framingham, Mass.) led the Crusaders with a 12th place finish and 4,457 points in the decathlon. Of the 10 events, Johnson earned the most points in the 400-meter, finishing with a time of 55.12 and earning 594 points.

The entire men's and women's track and field teams will return to action on Saturday, April 21, as the Crusaders welcome eight teams to the Hart Track. The men will host AIC, Bryant, Central Connecticut, Colgate, Hartford, Maine and Stonehill while the women will compete against Bryant, Central Connecticut, Hartford, Maine, Massachusetts and Stonehill. The meets are scheduled to begin at 11:00 a.m.
